Your guide to our standards, procedures, and commitments
At Battleford Physiotherapy, we are committed to providing you with the highest quality care in a safe, professional, and respectful environment. The following policies ensure transparency, protect both patients and staff, and help us maintain the standards required by our regulatory bodies.
This policy ensures fair access to care and protects the clinic's time.
We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling requests.
Clinicians will wait up to 30 minutes for your arrival. After this, the session may be considered a "No-Show" and cancelled with full fees applied. If the session proceeds, it will still end at the originally scheduled time.
We know things happen. If you have a sudden medical or family emergency, your fees may be waived.
Clinics must comply with legislation such as PHIPA (Ontario) or PIPEDA (Canada).
We collect only necessary information, including your health history, contact details, and insurance information, to provide safe and effective care.
Your PHI is stored in a secure, encrypted electronic medical record (EMR). We do not share your information without your explicit written consent, except where required by law.
Under PHIPA, you have the right to access your records, request corrections, and withdraw your consent for data use at any time.
Transparent financial practices are a requirement of professional standards.
Payment is due in full at the time of service. We accept credit cards, debit, and e-transfers.
As a courtesy, we offer direct billing to major insurance providers. You must provide your policy and member ID numbers at your first visit.
If your insurance claim is denied or only partially covered, you are solely responsible for the remaining balance.
Insurance providers typically do not cover missed appointment fees; these must be paid out-of-pocket by the patient.
Maintaining a safe environment is essential for both staff and patients.
We adhere to strict sanitization protocols for all treatment tables and equipment between every patient visit.
Our clinic has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of verbal abuse, harassment, or discrimination toward our staff or other clients. Such behaviour will result in immediate discharge from our care.
Your therapist will explain all proposed treatments, including potential risks and benefits. You have the right to ask questions or refuse any part of the treatment at any time.
All physiotherapists at our clinic are registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
We maintain accurate and complete patient records as required by professional documentation standards.
